Stop IT!

What is IT? IT is a bill that doesn't have a name or a number, or any definite wording, or any agreed upon effect. It's a secret bill about secret surveillance that could allow the government to secretly uncover all of your personal secrets in a secret way. Maybe. As best we can tell the bill would (could?, might?) legalize illegal government spying on innocent Americans. We don't know. No one seems to know for sure. So we just throw up our hands and shout STOP IT! If you want to STOP IT! too send a message to Congress telling them so.


Repeal the Patriot Act
We said the government would abuse the Patriot Act, and it has. Now it's time to tell Congress to repeal it.


Whistleblower Protection
The House has passed a Whistleblower protection bill by a veto-proof majority. Now we need to have the same thing happen in the Senate. Send your Senators a message.


Federal deficit causes Congressional pay cut
Congress needs incentives to Downsize DC. H.R. 500 would provide such an incentive. If the federal government runs a deficit, then Congress will suffer a cut in pay. Tell your elected representatives to sponsor H.R. 500.


Stop experimenting with American lives
Congress and the President have spent four years experimenting with American lives, trying to find a way to bring peace to Iraq. It is time for the experiments to end. It is time for the Iraqi's to resolve their own problems. HR 413 would de-authorize the U.S. occupation of Iraq. Tell Congress to stop the experiments. Tell Congress to pass HR 413.

Save our ports from online poker sites!
What do Port Security and Internet poker have to do with each other? Nothing. That didn't stop Senator Bill Frist from inserting a ban on money transfers to Internet gaming sites into a Port Security bill. Now, Americans are banned from some online poker sites. This is a dishonest bill passed in a dishonest way. Congress needs to reconsider this ban as a stand alone bill, and repeal it. You can ask them to do so here.


Truth must count. Innocence must matter.
The federal government now has the power to make you disappear. It can detain you and torture you without trial. Forever. You may have heard that this power only applies to non-citizens (as if that makes it okay). If so, you heard wrong. This law removes your right to challenge your detention in court, and if you cannot challenge your detention in court, then you cannot use your U.S. citizenship as grounds to end your detention. This law needs to be repealed immediately. You can begin the repeal process here.


Stop the War for Terror
U.S. policy has inflamed the Middle East. It has made terrorism more likely rather than less. We seem to be fighting a war for terror, rather than on terror. This policy must stop. The place to start stopping is with Iran. We must not attack Iran. War with Iran would devastate our economy, disrupt world oil supplies, and recruit more terrorists. On May 10, 2005 Congress passed the REAL ID Act. This law imposes a national identification system on the American people for the first time. We are promised increased security in return. Here's what's at stake . . .

The immigration controversy, and the legislation it has spawned, has become a Trojan Horse for imposing the REAL ID Act on all Americans, and entangling all of us in a bureaucratic nightmare of apocalyptic proportions.

Think for a moment about all the problems there have been with the terrorist watch list. Think about all the innocent Americans who have been placed on this list for no discernible reason, and the trouble people have had getting off this list. Now . . .

Imagine this same kind of bureaucratic nightmare expanding to entangle every job and business in America. This is what the REAL ID provisions of the new Senate Immigration Bill (S. 1348) will bring about.

The offending section is Title III which will require . . .

Every employer in America to pre-screen every worker for every job they're ever offered for the rest of their lives, regardless of the size of the business, or the job.

The cost to the federal government ALONE is estimated by the feds themselves (so you know it's low) at $11.7 billion per year.

The costs to businesses may be even higher. This will raise the cost of hiring new people and foster unemployment. But that's only the beginning of the trouble.

Every American will have to produce a Real ID license to get a job—no exceptions. I think we can see where this is going . . .

Proving our identity, and proving that we are innocent, is about to become a requirement for living.

Taking this approach could certainly solve the problem of prison over-crowding, because under REAL ID deadbeat Moms and Dads, drunk drivers, jaywalkers, and anybody else who does anything wrong at any time, can all be punished simply and quickly, without prison, and perhaps without trial, simply by turning them into a non-person in terms of the required employment background check.

But let's say you don't ever do anything wrong, but you still end up with a black mark next to your name anyway, just like what has happened to people with the terrorist watch list? How long will it take, and how much will it cost, to get your name cleared?

And what if you can't get your name cleared, simply because of bureaucratic inefficiency, like with the terrorist watch list?

Will you starve because you can't get a job? And what about your family? Your kids?

Meanwhile, under these provisions, the black market gets a further government "price support" for fake IDs. Anything can be faked. If a thing can be made by government it can be forged by criminals. This includes birth certificates and other documents required to obtain a so-called REAL ID.

Politicians who talk about tamper proof ID cards are idiots babbling nonsense.

But it gets worse. The federal government is trying to box in the states that have rejected the REAL ID program by making all of the citizens of those states effectively illegal persons!

Plus, new federal funding for state programs will only be given to states that comply with REAL ID. The Feds are trying to both bribe and coerce the states into complying.

What's worse, most of the Senate may not even realize these provisions are in the immigration bill, or what their impact would be. The bill is huge, and complicated. As of this writing it hasn't even been printed yet, and it's very unlikely the Senators will even read the bill before they pass it into law.

You've been warned. If you want to heed the warning please send a message to both the House and Senate telling them to strip out all REAL ID related provisions from any immigration bill they are considering.

I performed the following experiment. It is a very simple one, but it has quite an effect on everyone who does it. It did on me. It will demonstrate to you the power of your thoughts.

First: Get 6 to 8 raw carrots and cut the tops off; the part that you normally throw away.

Second: Place the tops in two bowls with a little water in each.
Third: Label one bowl with a "-" (negative) and the other bowl "+" (positive).

Fourth: Place them on the windowsill to get sunlight.

Fifth: Daily take each bowl down and talk to those tops separately.

• The "+" bowl- instruct them to grow beautiful . . . you know that they are beautiful. . and that you want them to be strong and healthy.

• The "-" bowl-you should instruct them to be ugly ... not to grow ... give them hate ... and give them all the resentments that you have.

Many people feel that they cannot tell a plant to die, but remember that it is just an experiment and that you were going to throw away the tops anyway.

I suggested this experiment to a local friend. BUT, when she put the negative ones back on the window A she thought in her mind that she really didn't mean the bad things she had said! Guess what? Both of the groups grew the same! I then told her that she should try the experiment again and to only give one love and leave the other alone. She was very surprised to see the difference.

In a few days you will notice a difference. WHY??? Because your thoughts, our thoughts, do have the power to create! Yes . . . We actually are able to control something with our mind! Now ask yourself, since I controlled something outside my body, what about me? What happens every time I think negative thoughts in general or negative thoughts about some aspect of myself? What do positive thoughts do for me or to me?

What happens when someone sends out thoughts of hate? What are they causing to happen to their bodies (where these thoughts are originating) and the bodies of the recipients of their negative thoughts?? Even assuming someone is deserving of our hate, (no one is worth what hating them costs us!), is giving birth to that hate worth what it does to us, our bodies, our psyches, our souls? I think not.

Some people actually reverse the growth with the carrots, the tops in the negative bowl grow and the positive die. If this happens to you then I suggest that you do the experiment again. You are not being consistent in the messages you are sending out.

Some people have the experience of both dying. If this happens to you, then you should try the experiment again. Do it until you get it right.
